New Philadelphia Police are awaiting results of an autopsy following a dead body being discovered along Maple Avenue.
Chief Tessa Pohovey indicates that someone called dispatch on Sunday.
“It was around 4:45pm a call came into our department reporting a possible deceased person in the 1100 black of Maple Avenue NW. When my officers and detectives arrived they confirmed that there was a deceased male at that location.”
Pohovey says it appears the body had been there for some time.
“It was a high brush area back off the road. It was back a little ways sort of in the wooded high brush area that would be kind of behind Walmart-Aldi in that area.”
No further details will be released as police wait for autopsy results from the Cuyahoga Medical Examiner’s Office.
