This year marks the 175th Tuscarawas County Fair which will feature some new grandstand events.
Vice President Josh Rennicker says before opening day there has been some maintenance at the fair grounds.
“New restroom upgrades we did this year. We have new electrical upgrades in the campgrounds, with water updates. Little improvements here and there all throughout the fair grounds just trying to make it better every year.”
Rennicker says they are bringing back Monday night motocross, the Band-O-Rama on Tuesday, and the popular trunk or treat Thursday night followed on Friday night by the OSTPA Truck and Tractor pulls.
New this year will be wrestling on Wednesday at 7:30pm and on Saturday, there will be live music.
“We have ex-WWE wrestlers coming in for the community. We’re really looking forward to that. Saturday night we’re bringing back a country concert. Maddie and Tae is coming in. Starts at 8pm. It’s a pretty big event so we’re looking forward to that.”
The fair will conclude on Sunday, September 21st with the demolition derby starting at 5pm.
The band show and trunk or treat events are free. Motocross tickets are $7, pro-wrestling tickets start at $12 and go up to $20 for track seating, and tickets for the truck and tractor pulls and derby are $12. Maddie & Tae concert seats start at $30.
Overall, Rennicker is looking forward to this year’s fair.
“Have a good time at the fair and making sure everybody enjoys it and helping people out. Thanks to all the community support. Even though there’s 11 board members right now, it’s the community and individuals, there’s different committees, there’s tons of people that help, and there’s some people that help in an extreme amount. Just a big thank you to all of them, otherwise this fair would not happen.”
