David Warther Carvings is once again offering free admission for one day only.
This coincides with Museum Day Live as a way to give all the opportunity to visit a museum. David Warther says this year’s event is on Saturday.
“This is where we open our doors to free admission to anybody that comes in and it’s a fun day. We proceed to do tours like we normally do and we get quite a few people every year that come in and see our place on museum day live.”
At the Sugarcreek Museum, guests will explore history through ship carvings.
“Just a few weeks ago I finished a carving of an ancient Egyptian ship that sailed on the Nile River 1,050 years before Christ was born. It was a cargo ship, and I was able to get the blueprints for the ship and just finished it up. It turned out really well. It’s a really cute little ship.”
Warther says it’s a small way to give back to the community.
“There are a lot of local people here that just aren’t sure they want to see something in this area. It’s human nature to want to go 500 miles to see something. This gives people an opportunity to see something at no cost right in their backyard. they get to see that there are good things to see right in our immediate area.”
Saturday’s free admission to the museum, located at 1775 State Route 39, will be from 10am to 5pm. The last tour is by 4pm.
