The Tuscarawas County Health Department is increasing ways to distribute naloxone out into the community.
Public health educator Lakyn Craig says they now have a vending machine outside the health department’s entrance that dispenses free kits of the overdose-reversal medication and other public health supplies at no cost.
She says the public can access the vending machine anonymously, 24/7.
Craig says there are also two other new locations where people can access Narcan in the community through newspaper-style distribution Nalox-boxes.
They are at the New Philadelphia Municipal Court building and at the county JFS building.
The new vending machine is being made possible through a regional grant in partnership with the Summit County Public Health Department.
