On Wednesday the Uhrichsville Fire Department will open their doors to the community.
The open house is from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Firefighter Zach Lynch encourages residents to stop by for kid friendly activities, safety information, and more.
“We’ll have the station open. We’ll have food there for everybody to enjoy. I know everybody loves the fire trucks, and we serve the community and it’s good to get together and we meet them, they meet us, and they can see their equipment. We’re going to have a safety trailer that we usually use for fire prevention as far as kids teaching them safety, how to get out of their home, stuff like that. We’ll also have a combat challenge that the kids can do like we do for when we’re training, as well as our apparatus, new equipment, and items like that.”
There’s also going to be hands only CPR training. Donations will also be collected to help Uhrichsville Firefighters Local 4265 purchase coats for Claymont District kids through Operation Warm.
