A Tuscarawas grand jury has indicted a New Philadelphia man accused of crashing his car at a high rate of speed into a telephone pole in the city and killing his passenger two months ago.

The charges against 37-year-old Janesh Cabrera-Vargas include aggravated vehicular homicide, OVI, and failure to stop after an accident for the crash that claimed the life of 21-year-old Terron Henderson.

It happened about 2 am on august 23rd along south Broadway near Hilan avenue southwest.

New Philadelphia police chief Tessa Pohovey told us at the time Cabrera-Vargas allegedly ran off, but officers caught him a short time later. She said witnesses described seeing Cabrera-Vargas drive the dodge charger with his passenger hanging out the window, with speed and alcohol as apparent factors.
