The Dover Public Library honoring local artist Joseph Merle Clantz

The Dover Public Library will honor the life and work of local artist Joseph Merle Clantz in the month of October in our Community Room Art Gallery. In what will be his final showing of his work Mr. Clantz will be displaying his various oil paintings for the community to enjoy. Born in 1938 and a graduate of Dennison High and Ohio University, Mr. Clantz has always loved to draw and studied under Dr. Charles Deetz of the Zanesville Art Institute. Gifted an oil paint set by Kathleen, his wife of 61 years, Mr. Clantz’s work captures the beauty of nature as well as the beauty of times gone by.
