Uhrichsville IAFF Local 4265 is collecting donations to give coats to Claymont School kids.

They’ve partnered with the school and Operation Warm previously, and a few years ago about 400 coats were given to preschool through 5th grade students.

Union Treasure Zach Lynch says they would like to raise money for preschool through 2nd grade, but if more funds are received then more coats can be ordered.

“Right now, I’m in the process of raising donations and getting sizes, which that is a big thing the school is helpful with, and once I get all that information we’ll order and hopefully get them in. Last time we got preschool through 5th grade, so as far as donation and funds available the more coats we can get for kids the better.”

The goal is for the fire department to distribute the warm outerwear by Thanksgiving and make a positive difference.

“So many smiles. They’re just so happy and blown away honestly. It’s why we do it. We want to help, and this is a way to give back to our community.”

Donations can be made by cash, check, or find the online link on the Uhrichsville Firefighters IAFF Local 4265 Facebook page.
