Robert Alan Walker, Sr, age 74, of Barnhill, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, in his residence, following a brief illness, early Friday, October 17, 2025, while in the care of Ohio’s Hospice.
Born in Twin City Hospital at Dennison, Bob was a son of the late Earl L. and Luella E. Eichel Walker.
He was a 1969 graduate of Indian Valley South High School. On September 12, 1971, Bob married the love of his life, Karin Cox. Together the couple raised three children and have shared in 54 years of marriage.
Bob spent nearly two decades as a truck driver for North Canton Transfer and was an avid bowler having played on many league teams and travel tournaments through the years. He was proud of the fact he had 8 – 300 games throughout the years. His other hobbies included playing poker with friends, card games with his family, and being ornery. He loved being the funny guy in the room especially when spending time with his family.
His past years have been spent as a caregiver to his wife, Karin, loving on his beloved toy poodle, Bella, and being an active member of Calvary Baptist Church at New Philadelphia.
In addition to his wife, Bob will be missed by his children, Tonya (Johnny) Woods of Barnhill, Contina (Scott) Barrett of Dennison, Robert A. Walker, Jr, of Barnhill; grandchildren, Savanah, (Collin), Shania, Spencer, Blessing, Heavenlee, Cambrye, Allie (Derek), Abbie (Ben), Cameron (Destiny), Tanner, Alex (Kaitlyn) Kirsten (Tommy) and Jensen; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Ray) LeGlise of Alabama, numerous nieces and nephews, his best friend, Darrell Butler of Dennison, and many lifelong friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Janice, Kay, Bev, and Rick, and his in-laws, Homer and Delores Cox.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 4-5 PM in the Calvary Baptist Church at New Philadelphia where Pastor Don Snow will lead a service celebrating Bob’s life beginning at 5 PM. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
