The Tuscarawas County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board is seeking a levy replacement.
The rate would not exceed 0.5 mill and is estimated to collect roughly $1.4 million annually.
ADAMHS Executive Board Director Natalie Bollon says this costs a taxpayer $18 each year, per $100,000 home value.
“We are Issue 1 and the goal of this levy is to return us to the 0.5 millage which would allow us to continue to provide treatment services and develop treatment services and supports in the community.”
Bollon says the programs they create or partner with has a direct correlation to what’s happening in Tuscarawas and Carroll counties.
“So, when the opiate epidemic was through the roof we and community partners pulled together to impact and now we have some of the lowest overdose rates in the state. The work that we do is really based on community need.”
Lately their concentration has been on suicide prevention. Election Day is on Tuesday and polling locations are open from 6:30am to 7:30pm.
