Barbara Lynn Meiser (née Doidge), age 83, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Dover, Ohio.
Born on October 24, 1942, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, Barbara lived a life filled with love and deep devotion to her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Fred Meiser; her son, Michael Meiser and his wife Jill; and her cherished granddaughters, Madeline and Caroline Meiser. Barbara also leaves behind her sister, Linda Doidge Pyles; her nieces, Jill Christy and Julie Christy Scheetz (Tom); and many others whose lives were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eileen Doidge.
A woman of vibrant spirit and enduring passions, Barbara found great joy in dance and the rhythms of live music and theater from all genres. Her love for the ocean was evident in the peaceful hours she spent walking along the beach collecting seashells—each one a small treasure that reflected her appreciation for beauty in the everyday. A woman of boundless congeniality, Barbara had an unparalleled gift for connection. To encounter her was to be offered instant companionship and a supportive new friendship. She delighted in gathering family and friends to share her culinary creations and ensure all were thoroughly and happily fed.
Her deepest devotion was reserved for her beloved granddaughters and their dogs, and she cherished and embraced every moment spent in their company. Barbara’s innovative mind inspired countless unique playtime ideas, igniting a spark that fostered a lifetime of creative pursuits within her girls.
Barbara had a unique way of seeing the world. One of her most memorable sayings was that a pink sky means the angels are baking cookies. For those who knew her best, that image will forever bring comfort—a gentle reminder of her presence whenever the sky blushes with color.
