In unofficial election results two new faces will sit with the Board of Education for the New Philadelphia City School District.
Getting the top votes is Andrew Zimmerman, who previously noted his background as a business owner, a Quaker parent, and also a teacher giving him a unique perspective to the board. Overall, he was thankful for the over 3,000 voters in support of him.
“And very thankful for everyone’s support all around the community. They’ve been wonderful and I guess the only thing left to do is to get to work. Try to make things better. That’s the kind of community that we’re in. They’ve always been wonderful to my entire family whether it’s in business or sports or just overall with the school and with our kids.”
Getting the second highest number of votes, 2,674, is Jane Bachman. She also brings a familiarity with the school district being a city resident, having kids enrolled, being a PTO volunteer, and soccer coach. Bachman says she grateful and excited.
“Just thank you to friends, family, members of the school. It’s been an interesting and fun campaign, and I’m just so grateful for all of their support. I’m grateful. I’m excited. I’m just proud for our community. The mixed part being I’m a little disappointed to see not as much support for Issue 19.”
Bachman and Zimmerman will serve a four-year term starting in 2026. These results are unofficial until certification.
