
The ADAMHS Board levy narrowly passed but it’s unofficial with provisional ballots still being accepted.
Twenty-three votes separate the decision with the higher number at 8,552 being for the tax levy.
The replacement 0.5 mill is estimated to generate $1.4 million, says Executive Director Natalie Bollon.
“This is about a fourth of our budget, and we run a pretty tight ship. We’re very aware of our use of taxpayer dollars and the responsibility given to us whenever a levy is passed.”
Overall, the levy dollars continue to provide and develop treatment services based upon community needs with recent goals surrounding the opiate epidemic and the high rate of suicides, specifically men, in Tuscarawas County.
