A monument dedication will take place Tuesday morning to honor the lives of veterans.
VFW Post 1445 Chaplain Jerry Chenevey says they collaborated with the City of New Philadelphia to place a stone monument at Schoenbrunn Meadow Cemetery, located on Delaware Drive SE.
“We decided on a nice memorial garden to have out there. It went from there once the membership and post commander got ahold of it.”
Post Commander Steve Chenevey says the dedication will take place November 11th at 8am and all are invited.
“We’re going to do the seen gun salute. We’re going to dedicate the monument to the veterans that have passed being that is a place of burial. That memorial will be for veterans that are deceased. Honor them.”
The VFW notes the memorial will serve as a place for military families, veterans, and community members to remember and honor those who served in the United States Armed Forces and lost their life.
Residents are then invited to the Tuscarawas County Courthouse, at 11am, for a Veterans Day program.
