Jackie Minor, age 78, of Bolivar passed away peacefully early Wednesday, November 19, 2025, after a period of declining health.
He was born on December 15, 1946, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late George Minor and Blanche Nelson. After moving to Tuscarawas County, he began working at the Starlight Workshop. Jack was always proud of the work he did and the friends he made. One of Jack’s greatest joys was that he became the first Horizons individual that was able to live on his own in his own apartment.
Along with his work, Jack was one of the first to sign-up for the many trips and activities that Horizons offered. He especially liked to attend the many sporting events through the years. Each Sunday he would ask if they were going to church. He enjoyed being a part of the Good Shepherds Class at New Philadelphia’s First Baptist Church.
Jack’s friends will greet guests on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service will be led by Dave Millard beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at a later time in Fort Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar.
