The State Highway Patrol is telling us just how difficult it was for drivers on the road Tuesday morning due to the snow.

New Philadelphia Post Commander Lt. Johnnie Maier says his troopers in a 12-hour period responded to 15 crashes and just over 60 calls for service in all, mainly for vehicles that slid off the road – with no damage or injuries reported.

Maier says two or three of the crashes however did involve minor injuries. multiple vehicles were involved in a series of accidents on US250 west near McCauley Drive from around 5:30 that morning.

Maier says those calls for vehicles sliding off the road can result in the driver getting a ticket for failure to maintain control, depending on the circumstances.
