Travel records show a Millersburg man going to Haiti more than 30 times to allegedly sexually abuse children.
According to the United State Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, Jeriah Mast, 44, received a federal grand jury four-count indictment charging him with attempted and actual engaging in illicit sexual conduct in a foreign place.
It’s alleged Mast, on four separate occasions, 2004, 200, and twice in 2011, traveled to Haiti and sexually abused minors.
Mast had been in prison since 2019 after pleading guilty to abusing children in Holmes County.
Federal court documents say Mast was let out of prison in October but was arrested nine days later on the new charges. The new federal charges are for alleged crimes that came to light six years ago.
Federal Court documents say Mast in 2019 confessed to molesting approximately 30 boys in Haiti, including while traveling with Berlin, Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries. Court records indicate Mast is being held without bail by U.S. Marshals.
Mast faces up to 30 years in prison, $250,000 in fines per count, and a lifetime of supervision, if convicted.
