Coshocton Community Choir to Share Christmas Concert ~The Work of Christmas~
(125 Musicians from 11 Ohio Counties return to River View High School this year to share a concert including a variety of sacred Christmas selections.) The 70-voice Coshocton Community Choir, including auditioned singers from 11 Ohio counties, will share its Christmas concert, “The Work of Christmas”, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 7th at River View High School, located at 26496 OH-60, Warsaw. Admission is free for the 90 minute concert, including the Coshocton Youth Chorale, The Coshocton Singers, The Roscoe Brass and additional instrumentalists; and will feature a selection of sacred choral music, including arrangements and setting of familiar hymns, classical and popular works, spirituals and more. Now in its 55th season, the Coshocton Community Choir was organized in 1971 by its Director, Charles R. Snyder and dedicated to worshipping God through song. Since its founding, more than 900 singers have sung with the Choir, which has become known for its renditions of sacred a cappella literature. The group’s singers come from all backgrounds, vocations and walks of life and travel for rehearsals and concerts from over 11 counties in Ohio. The Choir rehearses together weekly through the fall and winter and traditionally performs a narrated Christmas and a Spring concert with a variety of musical accompanists. The Coshocton Community Choir is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and meets expenses involved in preparing for concerts each year through its patrons’ contributions and donations at concerts.
