Dover Athletic Director Tim McCrate is reflecting on his 11 years as A-D about seven months before his retirement is official.
The School Board voted on McCrate’s retirement at Monday’s meeting, and it will be effective at the end of June. He says he does not expect to be involved in picking his replacement.
McCrate has been in education 31 years, most of them at Dover with about a 5-year stint as Tusky Valley Middle School principal. He is grateful to the community.
McCrate praised the Hall of Fame coaches he has worked with and picked this past spring’s softball state championship as a special highlight. McCrate also was part of a group that revitalized the Dover High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018 and has kept it going since.
McCrate says he will be looking for a job in the private sector.
