Mary Louise Jones, age 99, of Park Village Health Care Center, Dover, was surrounded by love and her family as she went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Born in the family home at Winfield, Ohio, on June 8, 1926, Mary was a daughter of Luther “Bird” and Ruby “Grace” Abersold Everhart. She attended Dover High School, where she was a cheerleader.

On February 27, 1943, Mary married Paul Jones and together the couple had two children, Terry and Penelope. They celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his passing on August 10, 2006.

Mary’s faith was nurtured at the First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia, where she also served as a custodian for many years. She was an avid golfer, having been the first of her family to obtain a hole-in-one. Throughout the years, she enjoyed playing on several golf leagues, planting flowers at home, decorating her Southside New Philadelphia yard, adult coloring pages, traveling, and special outings with her daughter.

Her kind spirit will be deeply missed by her children, Terry (Margie) Jones of Dover and Penelope Clark of Tippecanoe; grandchildren, Timothy (Cheryl) Jones, Thomas (Debbie) Jones, Theodore (Jennifer) Jones, Jennifer (Darrell) Wilcox, and Meg (Mike) Wiandt; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Dessecker.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be led by pastors Mike Cunningham and Dan Legg on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11 AM, with the family greeting guests one hour prior to the service in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A meal and fellowship will be shared in the Hospitality Room of the Dover Geib Center following the service.

Mary’s family was blessed that she found a home and a community of caregivers who loved her as much as they did. It is with gratitude that her family extends a warm thank you to Park Village Dover for all of their care over the past four years she has been a resident at the facility.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be directed to the Woody Paul Blanket Mission c/o Deersville Faith & Fellowship Church, PO Box 59, Deersville, Ohio 44693.
