Patsy J. “Memaw” Cox, age 86, of Sherrodsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health.
Born September 10, 1939, in Sherrodsville, she was the daughter of the late John Marvin and Garnet (Russell) Herbert. Patsy was a faithful member of Sherrodsville Calvary Church and a proud 1957 graduate of Conotton Valley High School, where she formed lifelong friendships. Patsy was also a founding member of the local women’s card club, where she played euchre weekly with her dear friends. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith. Patsy’s warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Billy Cox, her parents, and her sister Loretta. She is survived by her siblings Shirley (Ken), Gayle (Charles), Vicki, Iris, Penny (Craig), and John (Debbie); her daughters LuRae (Trev) Elmore and Tracy (Jamie) Hidey; her grandchildren Byron (Chandice) Elmore, Jessica (Vinnie) Russell, Chelsea (Nolan) Wolf, Taylor (Andrew) Russell, Trever (Ashleigh) Russell, Hunter (Brady) Russell, Kristin (Cory) Randles, and Billy (Amanda) McLandsborough; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and countless people who she loved and who loved her.
