Robert E. Sheely, 80, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Majora Lane Care Center in Millersburg.

He was born in Fresno on May 21, 1945, to the late Eugene S. and Betty Jane (McClure) Sheely and married Barbara Burke on September 20, 1964. She survives.

Bob is retired from Belden Brick in Sugarcreek, where he worked as a kiln fireman. He also worked as a journeyman painter and hanging wallpaper. He was a talented wood crafter, enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and traveling with Barbara.

He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Baltic.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his children, Bob (Midge) Sheely of Stone Creek, Amy (Jon) Kocsis of Baltic, and Kellie (Chris) Everhart of West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, Alia Everhart, Ashley (Andy) Kinney, Amy (Rick) Booth, Michelle (BJ) Brown, Nicole (Jon) Nearhoof, Justin (Tori) Sheely, Josh Sheely, Cody (Dana) Ditto, Emily (Tanner) Miller, and Christopher (Megan) Everhart; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Little of Ohio and Debra (Dennis) Kaser of Coshocton; brother-in-law Ron Scandolari of Texas; nephews Michael (Kristin) Scandolari and their boys Weston, Rylan, and Garin and Blake (Julie) Scandolari and their daughter Paislee.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 12 PM (Noon) at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Rev. Dr. Jim Henniger officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Baltic. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 10-12 prior to services.

The family would like to thank the staff at Majora Lane for the excellent care they gave to Bob during his stay.
