Clyde Richard Durbin Jr., 75, of Newcomerstown, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio, following a courageously fought battle with cancer. Born May 21, 1950 in Coshocton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Clyde Richard and Dorothy Jean (Bridges) Durbin.
Clyde was a lifelong resident of the Newcomerstown area who had been employed by WillowWood Lumber for many years. In his spare time, he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and his good friend, Dick Moore.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his children, Kenneth Durbin and Christina Powell; grandchildren, Katie (companion, Mark Wright) Raines, Hannah (companion, Justin Smith) Raines, Karly Raines, Haven Durbin, Patrick Durbin, and Kaleb Durbin; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Peggy) Durbin, Barb (Wesley, deceased) Bassett, Marilyn (Paul) Baker, Nancy (Dave, deceased) Quillen, Mike Durbin, Linda (Tom, deceased) Thompson, and Bonnie (Chuck, deceased) Peach; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard “Rick” Durbin.
Pastor Kory Rowland will officiate an 11:00 a.m. memorial service on Friday, January 16, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, prior to the service. The family would also like to invite everyone to gather with them after the service at Hartwood Church, 14206 Hartwood Road, Newcomerstown, OH 43832.
