A 20-year-old man wanted by ICE is facing charges in Tuscarawas County where Dover police say he robbed a person at knifepoint.

Erick Carrion Padilla is in the Tuscarawas County Jail, where he will remain even if he posts a $75,000 bond because he faces federal charges and an ICE hold order is in place.

A grand jury indictment charges Carrion-Padilla with three felonies – aggravated robbery, robbery and theft. It says he used a knife to rob a 17-year-old of $1,670 in cash and a check worth $265 on Oct. 22, 2025.

Tuscarawas County Prosecutor Ryan Styer says the 17-year-old was the clerk at a Hispanic store in Dover, and the cash and money stolen came from that store.

Authorities transported Carrion-Padilla to Tuscarawas County earlier this week from the Mahoning County Jail, where he was being held on federal charges.

He pleaded not guilty to the indictment at an arraignment Tuesday. A pre-trial is scheduled for Feb. 10.
