Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services is changing how Medicaid non-emergency transportation is scheduled. Beginning January 28th, Medicaid recipients will contact transportation providers directly to arrange rides to medical appointments.
JFS has partnered with AccessTusc, Horizons, and Society for Equal Access to handle scheduling calls.
Job and Family Services will continue scheduling rides through January 27th as the transition takes place.
Officials say the new process will provide clients with more choice and help streamline scheduling. Recipients may also continue requesting transportation through their managed care plans.
