Residents are encouraged to stop by the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to see a history display.

Executive Director Dee Grossman says the three panels highlight past event in Tuscarawas County and other key moments.

“If it weren’t for Tuscarawas County, Ohio wouldn’t be where it is today. We are and we were at the forefront of the nation’s beginnings. Fort Laurens is the only Ohio Revolutionary War fort. The whole history of Ohio and the nation is right here. If you don’t know that get out and see the archeology at Fort Laurens, get down to Schoenbrunn, and Gnadenhutten.”

Grossman says the CVB created a specialized link accessible at traveltusc.com to highlight local events for America 250.

Grossman 4 “There are two components to this – one of them is a thumbnail print of our attractions and our events. There’s a separate calendar for 250 that we will also be merging with our regular calendar.”

Some events include a February 26th recounting of manufacturing history in Tuscarawas County, a patriotic concert at Garaway School, train events in Dennison and Sugarcreek, and more.
