Karen Lea Brinkman, age 66, of New Philadelphia, died late Friday, February 6, 2026, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover, Karen was a daughter of the late John Jr. and Ramona Riddle Brinkman.
She attended Sandy Valley High School, Brown Mackie College, and Kent State University Tuscarawas where she studied Sociology to become a drug and alcohol counselor. For a period of time, Karen worked as a home health aide.
Her greatest passion in life was writing. She spent many years working on writing an autobiography of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Codie Green) Brinkman of New Philadelphia; her siblings, Diane Weister of Massillon, Tina Brinkman, Julie (Terry Huff) Brinkman, and Jason Brinkman all of New Philadelphia, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
