Eileen D. Mitchell, age 91, of rural Coshocton, Ohio, and a former New Philadelphia resident, died Sunday morning, February 8, 2026, in her daughter’s residence.

She was born October 7, 1934, in Zoarville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Thomas Glenwood and Florence Elizabeth (Brady) Felgenhauer.  Her husband, the late James M. Mitchell, Jr., whom she married December 20, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, died on June 15, 1997.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters Jean Carter, Beverly Westbury, and Dorothy P. Hidey, three brothers, Rex Felgenhauer, Tommy Lee Felgenhauer, and Gale Felgenhauer, her beloved grandson, David J. Berrios, and her son-in-law Linus Kilcheman.

Primarily a homemaker throughout her life, Eileen preferred a simple lifestyle.  She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  On occasion, she enjoyed attending garage sales. She always looked forward to family shopping excursions and going out to eat.  She recently had been attending the Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Kilcheman of Coshocton, OH, with whom she resided, and  Mrs. Cindy (Fred) Gamble of New Philadelphia, OH, four sisters, Eunice Wisman of Mineral City, OH, Mrs. Linda Myers of Strongsville, OH, Opal Watkins of Massillon, OH, and Donna Sell of Sherrodsville, OH, and a brother Paul (Irene) Felgenhauer of New Philadelphia, seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2026, in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Dr. Tom Hendershot officiating.  Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.  At Eileen’s request, there will be no graveside service or procession to the cemetery.  Calling hours will be held Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services in the funeral home.  To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
