Baltic firefighters say 11 cats and one dog were killed in a trailer home fire Wednesday morning south of Rogersville.
No people were injured. This was in the 92-hundred block of Haas Road southwest.
Baltic chief Gary Stein says the homeowner reported smoke and flames coming from the back of the trailer as she was getting home from work at around 7:30 am following a 12-hour shift. no one else had been in the trailer during that time.
The trailer was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, and it took about an hour to get the fire under control.
Stein says it appears the fire started somewhere in the center of the trailer, but the cause is being listed as undetermined.
Firefighters were on scene more than three hours total. The trailer, valued at about 45-thousand dollars, is a total loss but was insured. The owner was staying with her parents who lived right near there and the red cross was also contacted to assist.
