The City of Uhrichsville is hoping to continue to gather funding for a major road rehabilitation project.
Mayor Jim Zucal updated council at their latest meeting.
“We’ve already secured $1.5 million in ODOT funding for that project. That’s the Trenton Avenue, Jaycee Drive out to Novelis where all the road problems are. That would be full depth repair.”
The city needs an additional $244,000.
Zucal has reached out to the Tuscarawas County Transportation Improvement District and Economic Development, who have roughly $500,000 available. The city’s hope is to secure up to $200,000 of that, leaving them about $80,000 short.
“And we could possible see as early as the year 2028 a major road project out there. Bringing in two or three million dollars to the city is an accomplishment.”
Zucal adds these dollars are on top of what the city was awarded for the widening and paving of Wardell Street.
