There are still appointments available for the United Way’s free volunteer income tax assistance program.
Tuscarawas County residents with qualifying incomes can sign up for slots on Tuesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays in March.
Site Supervisor Jack Dooling says the program has grown in popularity over eight years.
He says about 75 percent of county residents qualify. Participants can schedule a time to drop off their W-2’s, 1099’s and other documents at the Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union on Filmore Avenue in Dover.
The United Way’s Hannah Hartman says qualified tax preparers will take care of the rest.
