A life-long Village of Dennison resident is selected to fill a full-term on council.
No one ran in the November general election and council opened up an application period. Mayor Greg DiDonato says they had seven candidates, and Taylur Cunningham was selected.
“We’re excited. She’s an employee down at the [Railroad] Depot [Museum]. Very committed, dedicated to the community and cares. I think she’ll be a great asset.”
Cunningham says the village is thriving and she wants to be a part of continuing that trend.
“With my job at the Depot I’ve been involved in downtown Dennison’s recent economic development. We are thriving. Everyone in Dennison is kind of going off the momentum of putting their efforts into making Dennison better, and I’m happy to do that.”
She also points to her youth being a positive.
“I’ve heard from several of the current sitting council members how that’s one reason they thought I would be a good fit to bring that new perspective and energy to council, and I hope to fulfill that for them.”
The Kent State Tuscarawas alum will sit on council for the next four years.
