John Ray Herron Sr., age 79, of Millersburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
The son of the late John and Mary (Henry) Herron, John was born June 8, 1946, in Dennison, Ohio.
In 1964, John graduated from Uhrichsville High School. He was employed as a supervisor for Alsco, drove truck and later worked at GE Electric. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his pup JP.
On January 13, 2017, John married Perla Tagum Herron, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his children John (Kayla) Herron of Uhrichsville, Rebecca (Steve) Toland of Dennison and Kim Herron of Dover; siblings Kay Ann White of New Philadelphia, Cathy (John) Edwards of Uhrichsville, and Ralph Herron of Virginia; seven grandchildren Johnny, Gregory, Jeremy, Caden, Keaton, McKenzie and Connor; along with 14 great grandchildren.
Pastor Brett Warkentine will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 1 p.m., at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville. Burial will follow at Roxford Church Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
