A seven-month road project will begin preparation work on Monday.
Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says the 5 miles between the Schoenbrunn exit and the I-77/US 250 interchange will see guardrail maintenance, concrete joint repairs, and repaving.
“This will go across the summer and any chance we get over the holidays to relieve those construction zones you’ll see both lanes open during that holiday travel. That’s something that will be helpful as this moves forward to that October completion date.”
Borell notes one lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions and speeds will vary. All work will be conducted during daytime hours and motorists are asked to pay attention.
“Can expect one lane maintained at all times and they will be lowering the speed limit through there for the safety of those working in the work zone. Want people to be mindful of that and slow down for those workers out there. Watch for those signs for the lower speed limit and give yourself plenty of travel time, especially if you’re traveling through this area during those high peak travel times in the morning and afternoon so that you reach your destination safely.”
She reminds to also watch out for construction workers over the course of this project that will be ongoing through October.
