Village council to expand stage with funding from the Rosenberry and Kimble Foundations.

The auditorium is within Dennison Village Hall. At the March meeting, Mayor Greg DiDonato says this will be an expansion project at an estimated $40,000.

“We picked the new flooring for the stage, and we picked that so they could tap dance and do a variety of things on it. We’re real excited about it. That will include electrical plugs, outlet, and power.”

The village received two proposals and council accepted Joseph Martinelli Construction.

Council also approved a resolution requesting the General Assembly to revisit House Bill 83 passed by the 136th General Assembly

“This is the one that says ODOT is responsible for all maintenance of highways that run in the villages. ODOT in the state of Ohio is not responsible for the highways that run through the town but they’re big vehicles are driving it. I don’t know what happened. Last year this passed almost unanimously in the house but they wouldn’t move it in the senate.”

In addition, a conversation started on how to best utilize a pavilion set in an area that consistently floods each year. Dennison council also approved a resolution to submit an application to the Safe Routes to School program.
