Several Tuscarawas County roads that flood every spring are flooding again.
Tuscarawas County Engineer Doug Bachman announced six road closures Monday morning because of high water. Those roads are Smokey Lane, Winklepleck and Golf Course roads in Sugarcreek, and Deuber, Sandyville and Somerdale Road in the northern part of the county.
Bachman says those roads flood every spring because of their proximity to dams. He says the flood levels are typical if the rainfall and snowmelts seem greater this year.
Some of the routinely flooded roads south of Uhrichsville could increase Monday night or Tuesday as the Piedmont and Clendening dams in Harrison County release water.
Bachman says drivers should be patient and avoid high water.
He says officials have looked into reducing the flooding, but solutions would be challenging, complicated and expensive at over 10 million dollars.
