Dennison firefighters responded to a fire Sunday evening at an apartment above the Dennison Eagles Hall.
Fire Chief Dave McConnell says crews were called to the 200 block of Grant Street just after five o’clock, after someone ran from the Eagles building down the alley to the nearby fire station to report smoke coming from the rear of the structure.
McConnell says the fire was blamed on smoking outside at an adjacent apartment. Crews had the fire knocked down in about five minutes.
Damage was limited to a door, an exterior wall, and the area just above it at the apartment – which had been vacant. No injuries were reported.
