Fort Laurens Museum Season Opening

May 2

Fort Laurens Museum opens for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 2, and kicks off its Free Speaker Series featuring author Alan Fitzpatrick at 11 a.m. in the Fort Laurens Theater.

Fitzpatrick will lead an in-depth discussion of the momentous events occurring in what was called the Ohio Country during the mid to late 18th century that re-shaped the lives and traditional culture of the indigenous tribes living there. The talk spans the years from the eve of the French and Indian War till the American Revolution and reveals major overwhelming factors threatening tribal presence and cultural cohesion. The Speaker Series is free and open to the public with free parking at Fort Laurens Museum.
