Trinity Twin City Medical Center in Dennison will be under new ownership starting this fall.
Trinity Health System today announced that it will transfer ownership from CommonSpirit Health to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center later this year. The transaction also includes Trinity West, Trinity East, Trinity St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital and associated clinics.
UPMC is headquartered in Pittsburgh and operates more than 40 hospitals in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. Steubenville-based Trinity Health System is currently part of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, which oversees 158 hospitals in 24 states.
It’s not clear if the transfer means changes at Twin City Medical Center. Provided quotes say company leaders “look forward to a bright future” and the transfer will “significantly benefit our patients.”
