Amanda Fontana steps away with a Tuesday night win after getting about 1,000 more votes.

She received the majority against fellow democrat Angie Hall for the House of Representatives 51st District nominee.

Fontana says she’s humbled by all the support and ready to continue working and hearing from the community.

“My heart is really full right now. It has been amazing thus far how this community has rallied behind me and [moving forward] making sure that I’m showing up to our village and city council meetings, and the township meetings because you can’t represent communities and people if you don’t know what’s going on in those communities and with the people.”

Fontana faces republican incumbent Jodi Salvo in the November general election.
