The Village of Tuscarawas must return to the ballot to seek voter support for a levy that had been in place for multiple years but lapsed due to a deadline mistake.

Mayor Dana Moore says the additional levy would have been a renewal last year.

He says the roughly $59,000 generated from the 2.4-mill property tax is vital to continue village operations.

“It’s for the general operations for the village to pay the bills. It is very necessary and at this point we’re operating without it and it’s making things very, very tight.”

Projects scheduled for this year are funded because the tax was previously in place, but since it dropped off, nothing has been collected since the start of 2026.
