Don’t miss this intimate listening experience with Bryan Kennedy and WTUZ Local Singer/Songwriter competition, Thursday, June 25, 2026, at The Delaware in downtown New Philadelphia.

Garth Brooks’ longtime tour manager and song co-writer Bryan Kennedy is a veteran Nashville songwriter, performer, and author whose career spans decades. Bryan often opened for Garth on his tours and was tour manager for the Dive Bar Tour with Blake Shelton and Garth.  Bryan is a prolific songwriter and performer, famous for co-writing hits for Garth Brooks, including The Beaches of CheyenneThe American Honky Tonk Bar AssociationGood Ride Cowboy, and Dive Bar with Brooks and Shelton. 

The evening includes your chance to perform an original song for Bryan and his audience at The Delaware. Submit a link to a video of your song to Songwriter@wtuz.com by June 15th, and a panel of judges will choose the top 8 entries to perform live at the concert. The top 3 performances of the night will be awarded cash prizes, with the winners voted on by the audience. Your song may even be played on WTUZ Radio! Let’s show Nashville all of the talent we have right here in Tuscarawas and surrounding counties!

 Bryan Kennedy concert – WTUZ Singer Songwriter Contest Rules

  1. All entries submitted must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Songs may have multiple co-writers, but only one name should be designated as the Entrant. All songwriters must be listed with the song lyrics. List the full name of the songwriter(s) – do not use initials. Entrant shall, by entering, indemnify and hold WTUZ Radio Inc., its parent companies, affiliates, sponsors, promotional partners, employees, contractors, and agents harmless from and against any claims.
  2. No use of (AI) Artificial Intelligence shall be used in the creation of the composition.
  3. Entrant needs to be the writer or co-writer and accompany themselves on Guitar, Piano, Fiddle, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo, Accordion, Dulcimer, Autoharp, or any suitable instrument or they can have no more than 1 person accompanist. 
  4. Lyrics are required to be free of explicit lyrics (curse words), and avoid any prejudice, hatred or overly sexual content.
  5. Contest is open to all amateur and professional songwriters and anyone regardless of nationality or origin. If Entrant is under 18 years old, the signature of a parent or guardian is required on the song lyrics sheet.  No entry fee is required.
  6. Entrant may submit up to two (2) songs.
  7. Song is required to be less than 5 minutes.
  8. Entry should consist of:
    a.) Video of the song performance (Video can be shot with smartphone)
    b.) Lyric sheet
    c.) Up to 250-word description and inspiration of the song.
    d.) Signage of waiver identified in item #3, above.
  9. Entrant retains all ownership rights to all submitted song(s).
  10. All entries must be submitted to Songwriter@wtuz.com or posted to YouTube on or before COB, Monday, June 15, 2026.
  11. Entries will be screened by a listening committee who will select the eight (8) finalists that will perform live at The Delaware on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
  12. Final eight (8) Entrants will be notified via e-mail or phone on or before Friday, June 19, 2026.
  13. All prizes will be awarded to the first name as it appears on the song lyric sheet.
  14. The final eight (8) performers will be voted on by the audience at the Thursday, June 25, 2026 Bryan Kennedy concert at The Delaware, 112 Fair Ave NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663
  15. Votes will be tallied during Bryan Kennedy’s performance and announced at the end of his concert.
  16. Prizes:
    1st Place – $200
    2nd Place – $100
    3rd Place – $50

Release & License Agreement
By submitting an entry into the WTUZ Singer-Songwriter Contest (“Contest”), hosted by WTUZ Radio Inc., the entrant agrees to the following terms and conditions:

Original Work & Ownership
Entrant represents and warrants that: The submitted song(s), lyrics, and performance(s) are original works. Entrant is
the sole owner of the submitted material, or has obtained all necessary permissions and consents from any co-writers,
collaborators, accompanists, performers, or rights holders. The submitted material does not infringe upon or violate
any copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights of any third party. Any
co-writers or collaborators have been fully disclosed to WTUZ Radio Inc at the time of submission. No Artificial Intelligence (“AI”)
was used wholly or in part in the creation of the submitted composition, lyrics, or musical work. Entrant understands
that failure to disclose collaborators, human or AI, may result in immediate disqualification and may expose Entrant to
potential copyright or legal claims.

Entrant Certification
“I certify that this is my own original work, I own or control all rights necessary to submit this material, and this content
was not generated wholly or in part by Artificial Intelligence. I understand that failure to disclose collaborators, human
or AI, may result in disqualification and possible copyright infringement implications.”

Grant of Limited Promotional License
Entrant retains all ownership rights to the submitted song(s), lyrics, recordings, performances, and related materials.
However, by entering the Contest, Entrant grants WTUZ Radio Inc., its parent companies, affiliates, sponsors, promotional
partners, employees, contractors, and agents a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to: Broadcast or stream
submitted songs and performances on radio, television, social media, websites, podcasts, livestreams, or digital
platforms; Use Entrant’s name, likeness, voice, photograph, biography, hometown, and submitted materials for
promotional, advertising, marketing, news, archival, or publicity purposes related to the Contest; Record, photograph,
livestream, videotape, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, or display Contest performances and related materials;
Promote future contests, concerts, or station events using Contest-related content. Entrant understands and agrees
that no compensation, royalties, residuals, or additional payment shall be due for such uses.

No Transfer of Ownership
Nothing in this Agreement transfers ownership of Entrant’s music, lyrics, publishing, songwriting rights, master
recording rights, or intellectual property to WTUZ Radio Inc. WTUZ Radio Inc claims no ownership interest in any submitted material beyond the limited promotional rights granted herein.

Release of Liability
Entrant voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in the Contest and any related events.
