A barn housing two workshops and livestock is a loss after an overnight blaze.
The Dover Fire Department was toned out Tuesday at 10:15pm to the 16-hundred block of Froman Hill Road.
Captain Joe Minocchi says units found a small shed and larger barn on fire.
“There’s a shed out there that has a propane generator. There was some type of explosion there. From there the fire spread to some lumber that was behind a large barn, which then caught the large barn on fire.”
Minocchi adds the barn is a total loss.
“In the top of the large barn was a wood and metal shop and then in the bottom of the barn was where they kept livestock.”
The livestock was removed safely and no injuries were reported. Fire departments from 11 stations responded with tanker trucks and units were on scene for six hours.
“Most of it was for tanker operations. There is no water supply out there, anything close, so the extra tankers were called to haul water.”
A cause is listed as undetermined as the investigation continues.
