TCHD Public Health Educator Abbie Shankland says they will be out on Monday at the Bluebell Drive Walmart from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

“We’re hoping to bring lots of caregivers to the event to hopefully get their car seats checked. As we know car seats are a lot of times not installed properly so we’re hoping to increase education out there for care givers and get children strapped into their car seats properly.”

Shankland notes that when used correctly, car seat save lives.

“As we know motor vehicle crashes are a huge thing that causes injuries, but it is also the leading causes of injury for children and having a proper car seat and using it properly is one of the most effective ways to help keep children safe while traveling.”

No appointment is needed and families are encouraged to bring their child, so technicians car ensure a proper seat fit.
