~ The Miss Ohio competition is currently underway in Ashland, and Miss Clayland, Lucabella LaEace, won the preliminary night Lifestyle & Fitness portion. She received a $500 scholarship. This is her third time winning the preliminary award at Miss Ohio. Winning Wednesday nights talent preliminary award was Caitlin Seifert, Miss Greater Columbus (and Miss Clayland 2023) for her baton routine. Thursday will be the second preliminary night with the finals of Miss Ohio being held on Saturday night.

~ The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host A Conversation About Property Tax: What’s at Stake if Property Taxes Are Eliminated on Thursday, June 25th at 6:00 PM at its Main Library. There will be a 14-person panel that includes State Representative Jodi Salvo, mayors from Dennison and New Philadelphia, along with others from local organizations, the sheriff’s department, and fire department. The 75-minute panel discussion will begin promptly at 6:00pm. There will be time allotted for questions and answers at the end. Space is limited and registration is required, which can be done by call the Tuscarawas County Public Library’s main location or go online to tusclibrary.org.

~ Two of the Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Friends groups will host book sales this summer. At the Tusky Branch, their sale will run July 13th – 18th. Proceeds will be used to support library projects. The Friends of the Strasburg Branch will host a book sale and lemonade stand August 6th – 8th. Proceeds will be used to raise money for furniture and equipment for the Strasburg Branch’s move to its new location. Book sales will be held during regular library hours.
