Marie T. Kopec, age 95, of Dover, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Park Village in Dover.

Marie was born on December 4, 1930 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania to the late Patrick and Mary Lisowski Grandinetta. On July 3, 1954, Marie married the late Alfred “Al” Kopec, and the couple celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing on August 14, 2017. Along with her late husband, Marie was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a true homemaker and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was an avid bridge player, and in her later years she enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Jacubetz, Raymond and Patricia.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Kopec of Denver, Colorado, Richard (Heidi) Kopec of Pemberville, and Stephen (Carolyn) Kopec of Plain City; her six grandchildren, Rachel (Antonio) Kopec-Gonzalez, Lucas (Naoko), Stephanie Kopec (Shannon Leasure), Matthew Kopec, Katherine (Cole) Kenyon, and Jonathon; great grandchildren, Olivia Kopec-Gonzalez and Mina Kopec-Takahashi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 3, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 10:00 until 10:45 am at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover.
