A 54-year-old Mineral City man was arrested after allegedly indiscriminately shooting a gun near the Mineral City Summer Carnival just after 7 p.m. on Saturday.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office report alleges Howard McKinney was intoxicated when he was in his yard on East First Street and fired a gun across the street toward a cemetery. That’s near a public park, a church and other homes.

Plus, the village was having a festival at the time so many people witnessed the incident. The report says no one was hurt and officials believe that no one was targeted.

McKinney is in the Tuscarawas County Jail with an arraignment scheduled for Thursday.
