The Stark County Sheriff’s Office has identified two suspects in a recent string of burglaries and break-ins.

One of them is 47-year-old Patrick Hoover, whose has multiple addresses listed in court and police files, most recently in Strasburg.

He had six criminal cases filed against him on July 8th and 9th in Canton and Massillon that include 20 felony charges such as safecracking, breaking and entering and theft.

Reports from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office say safes and cash were stolen from multiple businesses on June 18th and 26th in Canton, Massillon and East Sparta.

Hoover is also accused of violating his parole from a 2022 case when he was charged with 23 felonies for burglary and tampering with coin machines among other charges. He owes over 16-thousand dollars in restitution and court costs in that case. Court records show he served less than 2 years of a 4 to 6 year prison sentence before being granted judicial release in 2024 and placed on probation for three years.

Hoover is in the Stark County Jail and scheduled to be back in court this week.

The other suspect is Janet Wilson of Canton. The Sheriff’s Office lists 10 charges including nine felonies against her. She was released on a recognizance bond and is due back in court this week.
