A fatal Carroll County crash is under investigation by the New Philadelphia Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Tuesday’s single-vehicle crash was on County Road 52 and happened shortly before noon.
Troopers say a 2007 Pontiac was on CR 52 when the vehicle went off the right side and struck a ditch, causing the car to go airborne and hit a creek embankment.
The 18-year-old Bowerston driver was taken to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. The 16-year-old passenger, from Carrollton, was pronounced deceased on scene.
OSP notes that neither were wearing seatbelts.
