Uhrichsville firefighters rescued three kids from Stillwater Creek Sunday night after they fell into the water near Ray Street.

Fire Captain Nathan Crouse says crews were sent by the 9-1-1 center shortly after 7 p.m. for a possible water rescue involving a juvenile in the creek.

“When firefighters arrived, they found three juveniles in the water. Two were on a small sandbar, while a third had been carried farther downstream but was able to get footing near another sandbar.”

Crouse says crews entered the water and safely brought all three out. Based on their understanding, the children were walking along the bank when they fell in.

He reminds anyone near the water to take precautions

“Like having a life vest and avoiding the creek when water levels are high or moving quickly.”

No injuries were reported, though one of the children who was rescued Sunday night was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
